About us

We're bid writers, not bid consultants. Most bid writing agencies are in fact consultancies that offer bid management and strategy. We only supply experienced freelance bid writers, which is why bid consultancies use us too. And for clients who want it, we can use SDCI™, a unique AI technology.

Why Just Bid Writers?

Almost every industry sector and all types of bid writing. We don't offer bid consultancy or bid management services.

Yes. Many of our writers have niche specialisms, and if you need a particular specialism that we don't currently cover, we'll go out and find potential candidates for you.

We only use experienced writers with a strong track record. You choose which of our writers to engage, and we'll usually offer you a choice. If they don't seem right, just say and we'll put forward other options until you're happy. If your writer becomes unavailable for unforeseen reasons, we'll replace them as quickly as possible.

Working with us

There are two ways. Tell us what you need using our enquiry form, call us on 0845 862 4646 or email info@justbidwriters.co.uk, and we'll select potential writers for you. Or, once our writer directory launches, you can pick possible candidates yourself.

Need a bid writer?

You contract with us and we contract the writer. You can then brief the writer directly or via us. Most of our work is project-specific and time-limited, but we're happy to work on a retainer basis if you'd prefer.

Typically, once the scope and cost are agreed, we introduce your writer. They review the tender documents and any existing material, then talk to the people who can brief them. But we're flexible and will fit in with the way you like to bring people on board. Our writers are happy to sign an NDA with you.

We're flexible. We don't impose particular processes. Our writers work in whatever way works best for you and your team.

Typically: initial enquiry and scope review, proposal and fixed quote, document review, briefing and interviews, response planning, drafting, your review, revisions, proofreading and handover. We'll adapt this to suit your bid.

Yes. We can act as additional writing capacity, a specialist section writer, an independent reviewer or a final quality-assurance pair of eyes.

Very often we can help. If you let us know the work scope and deadlines, we will tell you honestly whether the project is achievable without compromising quality.

The writing

Both. We can write the full written response or focus on high-value sections such as the method statement, social value, mobilisation plan, quality narrative or executive summary.

Yes. We can review, rewrite, restructure or complete partial drafts, depending on the quality of the source material and the time available.

Yes. Your writer will help turn what your organisation does into compliant, evidence-led responses. We'll be clear from the start about the information and evidence you'll need to provide, such as case studies, policies, accreditations and figures.

AI

Only if you want us to. If you do, we use SDCI™, a non-LLM form of AI, to produce a first draft that your freelance bid writer then refines. If you don't, we don't use it.

SDCI™ (Synthetic Deterministic Cognitive Intelligence) is a non-LLM form of AI built on decision science over 11 years of R&D. Because it's deterministic rather than probabilistic, it avoids the generic copy, drift and made-up facts that standard generative AI tools can produce. It also analyses the buyer, your organisation and the gaps in a draft, not just the words.

How we use AI

Costs and getting started

We charge industry standard rates, typically £500 to £800 per day. The exact rate depends on the writer, the scope of the work and the timescale. For defined scopes, we can offer a fixed fee instead.

See our costs

Send us a summary of the opportunity, with your deadline, budget range and any existing material that you can disclose. We'll arrange a short scoping call and follow it with a quote.
