Writer A combines bid writing and bid management with creative copywriting. She has more than two decades' experience of devising strategy and managing and writing content in highly competitive markets, and has contributed to public and private sector contract wins worth tens of billions. She is used to reading between the lines of a tender to find what matters most to the buyer, then setting out a client's points of difference clearly.

She has worked internationally in client marketing teams and advertising agencies. That has given her experience of refining documents written by non-native English speakers, and of writing in a style that translates cleanly and accurately into other languages.

She has held government security clearance for tenders to departments including the MoD and the MoJ, and to their equivalents across the EMEA region.

Writer B is a communications, marketing and bid professional with more than 25 years' experience. She has played a leading role in writing successful submissions for high-value highways and infrastructure tenders, and supports clients with review and challenge as well as writing.

She works across the whole bid process. At kick-off and response planning she brings strategic input and knowledge from several industries. As responses develop, she works closely with technical experts to bring in the right level of detail and evidence. In the final stages she edits for a consistent, polished submission.

Alongside bid writing she works in communications, PR and journalism, including a recent series of articles for Lloyd's Register Foundation and for the HSE's Discovering Safety programme. She has also compiled and edited annual reports for Tier 1 companies and the NHS.

Writer C is a construction bid writer by background. She has written successful public and private sector tender responses for some of the UK's largest building companies.

After gaining an MA in creative writing, she moved into creative copywriting and editorial content as well. That work shaped her story-led approach to proposal writing and gave her a broad understanding of marketing.

Whether she is writing bids, case studies, articles or brochures, she focuses on linking her clients' key messages to the challenges their end users face. She is also an experienced InDesign user and can produce page layouts to go with her copy, which helps where a submission allows designed content or needs supporting material.

Writer D has more than 25 years' experience of public sector tenders and private sector proposals, including over 400 successful submissions worth up to £250m in total contract value.

He leads, directs, reviews and writes for multi-disciplinary, multinational virtual teams, and has worked on most types of procurement document, including PQQs, RFIs, RFPs, ITQs, ITNs, ITTs and BAFOs. His sector experience covers central, regional and local government, defence, health, justice, IT, construction, facilities management, finance, transport, utilities and more.

Between 2017 and 2026 he provided bid writing and editing, and in some cases bid management, on 11 IT bids to HMRC, all of which were won. His win rate on IT bids across all sectors is 85%. He also worked with Accenture on the successful bid for the £5m BPO NI Direct Phase 1 contract for the Northern Ireland Civil Service.

Writer E has 30 years of public sector procurement experience on both the buying and bidding sides. This includes programme performance on work worth more than £100m at the DWP and national bidding worth more than £350m at Remploy, which gives them a firm grounding for writing about governance, data accountability and large-scale public sector delivery.

They also have hands-on experience across the full software development cycle, from specification and build to release and support. That gives direct technical grounding for IT-focused bids.

Writer E has a working knowledge of the G-Cloud and Crown Commercial Service frameworks, the procurement routes that many public sector technology tenders go through. Their experience on the buying side means they understand how public sector requirements are specified and assessed.

Writer F has 28 years' experience of IT bid writing and management in large, high-value public sector procurement, covering central government IT contracts in the NHS, defence, justice, policing, local authorities and education.

As Interim Head of Bids at Trustmarque he led a five-person team handling eight submissions a week, including central government and NHS opportunities, and doubled the win rate within 90 days. At Logicalis, writing IT tender responses directly, he achieved a fourfold improvement in win rate over six months.

He specialises in turning technical service specifications into clear narrative for evaluators. Examples include the Siemens Mobility Hacon project for an international transport authority and, as primary bid architect, the G4S Ministry of Justice electronic monitoring bids. Other work includes a £3.3bn MoD defence logistics tender with Kuehne + Nagel and Leidos, NHS supply chain work for GXO, and classified work under SC clearance.

Writer G has 25 years' experience across GCHQ, Defra, Cardiff University and Civil Service procurement work. As a Deputy Director at Defra she held a £150m IT services budget. Her buyer-side experience includes specifying requirements and evaluating bids from managed service providers.

She is an ITIL Expert and eSC-cleared, with 25 years in IT service management. She has designed ITSM solutions and operating models within live bids, including the EU Schengen Information System blueprint and the Defra Cloud Service Centre.

She can write technical solution and service design content with real technical authority, and knows from the buyer's side how that content is assessed.
